    Hello everyone

Picked up two Dali prints couple days ago. Pretty sure they are good considering they came from a very high end Manhattan estate.
However I'm lost with edition marks. One has a P with some roman numbers and the other HC on it.
Can anyone explain the meaning and how it affects the price?

You appear to have 2 prints from his Alice and Wonderland series, commissioned by Random House in 1969. Here's another though idk if their pricing is attainable.

You have "The Mock Turtle’s Story" and "The Queen’s Croquet Ground".

There have been reprints and book prints so you'll have to take a look at the print and numbering conventions, but that embossed mark might be key.

HC ..If a print is signed Hors d'Commerce or HC, it means this print was destined for promotional use, most commonly as a sample for galleries or dealers. Again, there's no explicit advantage to seeking out a HC proof except if you are interested in the object's 'journey'.

    P .. likely Printers Proof

The original official set was numbered /2500 so these are not from that. Dali gets reprints all the time, including with those scammy cruise ship "art auctions" so it's quite a thing to attempt to unravel when buying his prints.

Hes so heavily forged its ridiculous. I would never buy a "Dali" or a "Picasso" thinking it was the real thing at this point. That being said they are great and Id have surely bought them to hang and enjoy.

When I was a little kid(last week;)), Dali was my idol as I was artistic to a level in surrealism. I actually obtained 2 prints back in the 70’s but lost em in a fire.
So now, I’m jealous. Hope you can obtain the correct info, and enjoy them.
