Any help with these two dolls please...

    I found these two dolls at our local hospice/charity shop.
    Can you please help with a time period estimate. And any other info that may help in identifying them.
    The girl is stringed (loosely). The boy is not, as far as I can tell...

    The costumes look Central European. Hungarian or Czech?

    I always associate these with the “small world” Disney ride, which was built post WW2. (Hasn’t everyone been stuck in that ride when it broke down and stopped moving, hearing that song on repeat loop?) These traditional costume dolls were collected by young girls in the 50s, 60s and even 70s but popularity waned as Barbie popularity waxed.

    My thought is Hungarian, but I really don't have any idea. Google could probably help with the costuming.

    Dolls purchased on a visit to the corresponding Country.

    I agree. Or brought to South Africa by Czechoslovakian/Hungarian migrants (refugees?).
