Any idea what this small-ish glass round ball with cord is?

    Hoping maybe someone has seen one of these. Was at a garage sale that did have older items, so just added it to a pile of things I was getting. Not even sure what I'm going to do with it, but price was right and thought I could check here at least to see what I bought, lol. Condition is quite good, I wouldn't be shocked to learn it was new, although the large glass dark navy colored bead seems to have some quality. Something for a curtain? Anyone seen similar?

    (Got some reflections in the glass bead.)

    It looks like what is called a Japanese scroll weight.
    IMHO you have one of a pair.
