Any idea who made this chair and when

    I found this chair while cleaning out a storage unit. Its from the 1800's i was told

    Welcome to the board.

    Interesting chair.
    At first I was looking at the leather, thinking possibly Spain. Then I looked again. I think the leather isn't original. The upholstery strapping looks later than the chair.

    Maybe someone can get an idea from the helmet.

    Again guessing time period to be early to mid 1800s.

    Sorry, guesses really aren't much help.

    Late 1800s. An internet image search with key words "Renaissance Revival" and "tooled leather" will bring up other examples. Condition matters.

    Late 19th century and I do think Spanish.

    Looks like a piece purloined from the library at Lyndhurst................(in which I once sat, actually!!)
