Any ideas? Stone/Marble plaque

    Hi,

    Any ideas on this little guy? For me, the modern 'font' suggests it's a modern souvenir but I can't find anything similar online. He's about 6-7 inches tall. It's very heavy but I can't work out the material.

    Looks like a souvenir from Florence. Likeness taken from Fra Bartolomeo's c. 1498 portrait. Material may be alabaster. Given size and flat bottom, could well be (an ironic) bookend.

    There are tricks to internet searches, including one's choice of search engine. And, if you're not doing so already, after searching under "All," also search under "Images."
