Any ideas?

This looks like an original watercolour, but I'm not sure

 

More than likely, a value study for a painting that may or may not have ever been painted.

How did you come across this piece?

Have you looked at it using a loupe or magnifying glass?

 

My dad died recently and he was an antiques dealer. No, not looked through loupe. My brother has them at the moment and has photographed them.

 

My condolences on the loss of your father.

A look at the whole front of the piece, including frame, and shot of the full back would be helpful. I can see there's a backing on it, but would still be beneficial.
