Any info on African souvenir (?) animal hide with artwork

    I found this at a friend's 2nd hand store. I have figured out it's from Ouagadougou - a country in Africa, and it's from a arts festival(?) called Burkina Faso. So I'm guessing the artist's name was Sissao? (can't find anything on him).
    I couldn't find anything like this - has anyone seen anything like it?
    Is it drawn? Burned? into the leather?
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Ouagadougou is a city, it is the capital of the West African country Burkina Faso.:)
    Sissao is probably the maker's name. It is a pretty common surname.

    I'd be sure to mention that it's a map of Africa.

    Burkina Faso is in west Africa, and was Upper Volta until the name was changed in the 1980s. (Helps to date the map and artwork.)
