Any info on Havè painting?

Hi all,I’m trying to find info on the artist of this city scape painting. The painting is signed Havè 1970. I have found some similar paintings but nothing related to this artist. The painting itself is 79cm X 43cm. Any help would be appreciated.Many thanks

 

You probably won't. This sort of thing was sold as "decorator" art, or as I grew up calling it "art by the yard". It's attractive but not by a recognized artist. I was in a 1964 custom designed house this morning for an estate sale and I can see this hanging there.

 

Yes-- style and the coloring scream to it being 1970s mass produced art.

I'd probably leave it alone, but you couldn't hurt it by changing the frame.

 

This is a charity shop find for very little money. I see some similar paintings being described as “abstract “ or even “modern surrealism’? And some of these vintage decor paintings do have some limited value.

 

There is nothing surrealist about this work. It’s an attractive MCM mid century modern vintage abstract cityscape. I’d leave it as is if selling.

 

Agree that integrity of work depends on original period frame.
