ANY INFO ON UNUSUAL IVORY BEADED NECKLACE WITH NETSUKE FIGURE

    This belonged to my mom - I've never seen anything like it where the figure hangs on the side of the necklace instead of at the bottom like most pieces hang on a necklace (I'm judging it goes on the side by where the clasp would sit on the back of your neck).
    I'm sure it's ivory because of the tic tac toe design of the grain - and the small gold spacers on the top & bottom of the netsuke are 18kt (the clasp has no markings), but what are the grapes & other small stones/decorations made of?
    Can anyone tell me who the artist was (it's signed on bottom of feet)?
    How old is it?
    Any info or thoughts/ideas would be greatly appreciated!

    I agree, 80s. You will probably never find the carver, these were fashion items.
    The grapes look like jade, the pink bead rose quartz.
