    It looks like a lute, but if it is, I don't know that it's supposed to have that hole under the strings (?) (I am no musician!)

    The terracotta made me think Italy, but honestly, that's just a guess.

    Is what I've highlighted below the "imprint" you've mentioned? Can you read it at all on the figurine itself?

    It is probably a type of mandolin, they come in different shapes and some have a central hole.
    The girl's dress with that bodice looks Italian, add a mandolin, and I say Italy.
