    Spool Holder w/ Pin Cushion. Bobbin Caddie. Keywords that should show you similar. Lots of them out there in different styles/shapes.

    Judging by the finish on the wood and the condition of the brass fittings, I do not believe this is very old - as in only about 60 - 70 years give or take.

    I could be very wrong of course.

    And THAT will be news to no one....................
