You might want to check out the sale at the Henderson Convention Center 200 S. Water St. 9am until 4pm. February 17th and 18th. An acquaintance of mine has a few pieces of glass there.

    Hi,
I am willing but unable, just to see all that Vaseline Glass would be worth the trip.

Fitting that he has uranium glass in Nevada; it was probably mined right down the road.

    Hi Desperate,
I had over 1000 pieces in my collection until 1986 when I sold 99% of it. I had the choice of selling the Vaseline Glass or the Fiesta (1400) pieces. I was moving from an eight room floor through in a Brooklyn brownstone to a 390 sq ft co-op. Luckily the unit had a 1000 sq ft storage unit in the basement. All my 1950s steel out door pieces went into the garden in the back of the building. A woman across the hall was moving out of state for two years and did not want to rent her unit. I rented it for storage. It was funny since the moving company I hired two years later to move me to NJ came and saw the co-op and named me a price. I started to laugh and said it would be at least 4 times as much. When the movers came (four movers and a driver) it took 6 hours to load the truck. They delivered it the next morning. I had bought a 3 storey farm house with a garage with a loft. It took them all day. They filled the house, the basement and attic, the garage and loft. As well as the yard. The owner of the company came to the house to see what was taking so long. She could not believe all of that stuff came out of a 350 sq ft condo.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I could not find a glass show listed for the Henderson NV Convention Center.

Is your friend a dealer from these parts? Nev or Calif.?
I'm only a couple of hours away, but the weather is going to be terrible here. Winds have been very heavy today with light rain. Upcountry is supposed to get snow later. Expecting another 5" of rain in the next couple of days at the lower level.

I think it was listed as "Las Vegas Antique Bottle and Collectible show"

He is a Facebook friend that belongs to a Glass group. I think he collects and deals a little.

Well heck, I just realized I have the wrong part of the state in mind.
I am not 2 hours from Henderson.

That depends on who's driving, and what.

Anyone know if the Railroad Pass Casino is still at the pass and if the large double sided neon sign with the train and dollar $igns is still there?

The wall sign too! And that was huge as well.

AND there's a huge one on the water tank too!
    Forgot them all..... :p

Did you find that card for sale somewhere Komo?

There is another huge wall sign on the other side of the building as well.
So I built all 4 signs there outside and likely various interior signs as well. Some of those were no doubt quite fancy and the ones on which I learned to build such types. I was known for being able to do that kind of casino sign detail and was the one who usually did that at whatever shop I was in after my first; Gulbransen Neon.
Bill was quite a character but I walked in there essentially fresh from the Navy and he put me right to work.
Bill's main office was a bar way out in the NW corner of Vegas. Businessmen knew where to find him.
This is true> He would sketch a design on a little bar napkin, bring it to me, tell me dimensions and paint color and tell me to build and wire it!
I LOVED THAT! All this blueprint/schematic stuff now..... BS! :)
