    hi folks

does anyone else think this could be silver ?

maybe perhaps a low grade continental silver

    caked black with tarnish

polished a little area that came up beautiful, no marks i can see

weights 0.25kg (heavy) measues 4 inches

let us know what you think

If it is low grade silver, in some European countries that would be .800, I would expect to see some verdigris from the copper content.
Maybe some more elbow grease and a silver tester?

Charlie, on his left knee, is that a bit of wear with another metal coming through?
Figurines like this are often plated.

Seems to be another man missing a cane or something. Maybe a shepherd's crook, that looks like a lamb he is carrying.
You could make a replacement yourself.

hi Aj, that coppery colour on leg has come straight off with a little polish, with a silver finish underneath

i wouldn't be suprised if it was plated:)

will give it a good going over, then maybe post a new pic

Given the appearance of the bottom, my guess would be plated resin.

He looks exactly like a figure in resin I saw while looking for your carved "wood" figure.

picture of base, the black is glue or bits of leftover felt, you can see where it was not quite attached

    good sign ?

Already established that I'm having an off day, but... I see that as a sign that @moreotherstuff was spot on.
