Is anyone familiar with Bromide postcards or prints?

This German postcard from the 1910s was sold by a company that I know published bromide postcards as well as other types.

The surface of the postcard doesn't look like the real photo pcs I've dealt with before, but it does have a slight sheen in the areas that are the darkest. The other areas look pretty flat. Is that consistent with bromide postcards and prints?

    Thanks... :)

    JMHO.
it must look flat because the beggar is standing before a wall that is either painted or covered by a linen whereupon you have the landscape.
or is it a coulisse ?

Not sure whether bromide and bromoil are the same process?

Some sites refer to bromide prints, and some refer to bromide paper. The above should give you a research start. I have no idea personally.

Oh, here is an article from the early 20th century. I haven't read it yet but maybe it will help.
