Anyone know how I might find who made this?

Hello! I recently purchased a little vanity desk to refurbish from Marketplace. I was curious about who made it and found this signature and date on one of the drawers. I am not familiar with furniture makers, but was wondering if anyone has any idea who might have made it? I’m in the United States (California).

Looks like a factory made piece, pseudo-French. Impossible to know who made this without a label or an exact match to a known example, as there were countless companies making similar. I think the name under the drawer may be of a worker or inspector. Suppose it could be from an owner as well.

 

I was going to say I bet that's when someone bought it. they wrote his/her name on the bottom and the date. They used to do that when packing it up for delivery in the Victorian era sometimes because my great-grandma's table has the name and address written underneath.
