Hello, want to know what these two baton looking things are. They substantial in weight, brass, two colors. There is a screw at end of each and smaller ones on the side. I am thinking handles? I might be on the wrong thread .....appreciate any and all input....They are 9 3/4" in length....each one approximately 1.7lbs. IMG_9787.jpeg IMG_9785.jpeg IMG_9784.jpeg IMG_9782.jpeg

Definitely not grenades, I thought they might be some kind of handles or a tool for soldering, not sure, personally I love brass and love their shape

Similar to but smaller than draught beer pump handles without the base fittings.

They probably could break a kneecap in a jiffy.

I am not able to take the top off....will unscrew the screws and see what is there. My husband also is thinking that it's type of a soldering iron, I just don't see that as it's solid metal and you would need some heavy gloves to hold them ...

I don't think the black portions of those are metal.
    But I could be wrong...

I don't either. They look like gutta percha to me.
Gutta percha was often used for handles because it is easy to shape and doesn't conduct electricity or heat.
