    Hi,

I recently bought a copper tank and I'm after some information, ideally the maker.

I believe it's a reserve fuel tank, but that's just a best guess (has res on the tap)

I've tried to search the logo, thinking that would help me understand it's use, but no luck!

Hopefully someone will recognise it and know what it is.

    Any thoughts much appreciated! 20240303_152653.jpg 20240303_152916.jpg 20240303_152716.jpg

    You don't mention the size.
From the picture shown it looks like a domestic hot water cylinder.

    IS that a 'Westinghouse' logo??

    Hi,
    It's 48cm tall and has a diameter of 26.5cm.

Not sure what you mean by where did I get it and where is it now, but if you mean country, I bought it in the UK and that's where I live - the tank is with me in my collection.

    Thanks.

Thanks. It's 48cm tall and has a diameter of 26.5cm.

Does the W logo mean anything to you? What about the "res" on the tap? (I assumed it stood for reserve?)

Do you mean a hot water cylinder for tea and coffee? Seems to small to heat/supply a house, but wanted to check what you mean.

    Thanks for the information!

Thanks. I've checked, and to me it's quite a different logo. Unless I'm missing one of their logos. We're theya German company as it's made in Germany?

    Thanks again

Being that size its obviously too small for a domestic heating supply.

Its not a tea or coffee urn because the tap or spigot is halfway up and would need to be at the bottom to fill containers.

The other thought is it could be what used to be called a Back Boiler from behind a fire place to heat water from the coal fire.

Maybe the valve/spigot/tap might have started out not with the copper cylinder, they may have been manufactured separately.

Made in Germany in English suggests the item was made for export.
