Anyone recognize this mark or can ya read the letters?

Pig poke in the dark, maybe. I called this a bean pot but I don’t think that is right. Anyone recognize anything about it or the marks?

How big/or small is it??

 

Seems small for a bean pot... simply a storage jar?

 

I certainly wish I had a photographic memory for MCM & later studio pottery signatures (and of course painters). Pre-war marks were generally more decipherable,all the later stuff-cryptic slashes.

 

I have an actual (at least vintage, maybe antique) bean pot designated 2 on the outside (I think 2 quart capacity) that is 5 inches from base to the beginning of the rim. Perhaps the same size as this one?
