Anyone recognize this small glass bowl (custard cup?)

Purchased in an antique store years ago ... but I now realize that just because it was in an antique store, is isn't necessarily old. Purple Amethyst glass with opalescent rim and a bit of opalescence on base. Just under 2½" tall, 3¾" across rim, and just over 1¾" across base. Oh ... and they have a faint hazy 'glow' under UV light ... not the yellow/lime green that old glass has, but more of a yellow/orange.

    Is anyone familiar with these?

Any guesses to what they are? Custard cups? Votive holders?

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

I just measured my on-hand votives... several brands... all are less than 1.5 inches at base... about 2-3 inches tall... would be a decent fit.

    Thanks for checking, Gila! :)

I've used them for tealights already ... kinda just "meh" :meh: The purple glass doesn't look as pretty with a burning candle inside as you would imagine it should.

Just curious if these are older than a votive holder would be.

How many are there ? They could just be for a dipping sauce or the like , very pretty .

I only have two ... there were only two on display.

Edited to add: I have used them for food use too ... liked them better for this than for candles :)
