Anyone recognize this sterling marker?

    Hello!

    I have had this little plate for quite a while now, and I have never understood this marker. I tested it after I bought it, and sure enough it's sterling. Any info is good info to me!

    if it's a heavy plating..........a false test is not unheard of......

    Since the "plate" on silver plate is sterling, an acid test will often give what you described as a false positive.
