Hello, inside a "brocante" lot, I found some costume jewelery, pins, and a rosary, the latter seems rather old.
Is there anything interesting according to you?
If I could catalog something interesting it would be great for me, so I can isolate them from the "trash" :)

    Thanks for your time

    Gian

This one is silver with a green aventurine:

You can bend the torn bit back in place and polish the silver, taking care not to damage any delicate parts.

The rest looks like costume jewellery to me, so I leave that to the costume joolies, who will be along soon.:)

With the white lines in the stone it looks more like amazonite .

Could be either. But amazonite is usually more blueish, and the sparkles made me think of aventurine. There is aventurine with lighter streaks or blotches as well:

See the green crud? That's verdigris. The start of corrosion. Any time you see it on jewelry leave those pieces behind.

This piece should not be kept with your other pieces as it can spread.

Some people have had success leaving it in ketchup for awhile.

Wait for others to chime in.

I know Continental as a Canadian company.

Don't know where I clipped this from:
Continental is often referred to as Canadian Juliana. The Continental Jewelry Company was located in Montreal, Canada and began in the 1960's and was still operating into the late 1990's. They competed against the likes of Gustave Sherman who was the renowned “King of Designer-Fashion Jewelry” for the opulent wealthy of Montreal at the time. Sherman operated from 1947-1981. Like Sherman, this company too imported their cut crystals from Swarovski. Many of their jewels are executed on a gold or silver tone base metal which is rhodium plate. The jewels (the metal part) are usually gold plated or chrome plated to accent the brilliance of the colored cut crystals for maximum brilliance. Swarovski crystal as we know contains 32% lead content which gives supreme brilliance and refraction of light whether it be a piece of cut crystal or an exquisite piece of jewelry. Again, like Sherman, this jewelry company saw the success of the “Age of Glitz”.
