As I said in my intro, I generally collect Sterling as a hobby. I did stumble onto these two pieces. I'm guessing maybe from 1920-40s? There are no marks other than Sterling on the rim. The design on rim has Grecian urns and flowers. Any info as to date and possible glass maker is much appreciated.

Looks like something a decorator would have done try Silver City or Wheeling decorating

Those are very nice pieces hunting, the engraving looks beautiful:) did you check for an acid mark hidden on the base or bottom of the pieces?

    Thanks, CX Girl,
It’s just a 1 plate and 1 cake pedestal. I think I checked very throughly, in good light, but maybe I’ll check again. I’ve had these a while. I like them, too.

sometimes I've been lucky taking photos with a flash and marks show up by accident.
Also I'm not sure if the patterns are etched or cut on the glass but they look very well done:)
What are the 4 square/blocks pieces in the design?

My thinking is slow tonight - maybe take a side view photo of the cake pedestal piece and perhaps @TallCakes would know the maker?

I’m not really familiar with knowing the difference. I think those are columns with the Greek theme. They are deep feeling, if that makes sense.

I’m still trying to find these. :banghead:
I had got a few suggestions. Tiffin and Minton. I tried, but had no luck, but will keep looking there. The only ones I find with a Grecian urn are gold Pickard and not the same, and made from 1978 on.
Does any one have any ideas to rule in or out Tiffin or Minton. I just am confused by the prices of these other 2. Thank you for looking.
I did also check Wheeling and Silver City.

I've been poking around but not finding anything the same. Here is an example of Hawkes engraving that made me think of your plates. I could be way off base but I think your pieces were done by an elegant/higher end company

Have you posted these on the glass message board? There was a gal that hung out there that seemed to know every border pattern possible - I don't know if she is still around but it might be worth a shot.

    I joined 2 Facebook forums.
Those were the suggestions I got, so far.
What message boards would you suggest?
I have looked all over again and can’t find any etched marks.
