    Hi all
I LOVE these 2 paintings - they are quirky & different.
But, are they 'folk art'? If not, what should I call them when listing for sale?
    Thank you!

Where did you find them ? I think they are both awesome, but I really love the lady. Id call them "naive" style, probably student work but not without charm.

From the images, they look more like drawings than paintings?

I wouldn't call them "folk art." The first one reminds me of Modigliani's paintings, which if I were listing it I might say in the description.

It appears that Malinda's still alive and well in Greenwich, CT. Seems she's an amateur painter, not a little bit inspired by Modigliani. The portrait by "Bryant" is more accomplished, obviously executed by someone with training. I wouldn't consider either folk art.

    Thrift store finds!
I will look up Modigliani - so "Naïve paintings inspired by Modigliani"? (Or, From the school of Madigliani?)

I'd probably say "in the style of."
