ARS NY: SS Hindenburg items

The most important thing not shown in these photos is the fact that the ancestor who collected these was at the time a US Navy enlisted man assigned to the Naval Air Station, Lakehurst, NJ, where the Hindenburg burned up.

    God bless Navy enlisted! The Zeppelin company didn't want them back, and he collected trash off the beach. Right? :)

    What does SS mean before the name of Hindenburg ?

    "SS" stands for steamship. The Hindenburg was an airship. It never had the prefix "SS".
