Art glass piece - what would you call it? - who made it?

    This came along in a box lot on Friday. Is it just a piece of art glass or is there a specific name for this form? It looks to be multiple layers of clear, shades of brown with aventurine highlights & white glass with a polished bottom. It is 7 1/4" to the top & is 7 1/8" across the top.

    I know how I might use it -- as a holder for whatever size and color candle would fit and look best. ;) I may be a bit :confused: at times.:rolleyes:

    I'd suggest a Votive open glass candle holder.....something along this line...

    It is interesting that the links that Gila posted all call it a vase. :confused::confused::confused::confused: That is the last thing I would think it could be called. :eek::eek::eek:

    Maybe I will dig around & see what kind of candle I can find so I can add that photo when it gets listed.
