Art Nouveau style silver over porcelain trophy engraved WON BY C C Preston Westmoreland Country Club Governor's Trophy July 4, 1902 C. Could not find a sterling mark anywhere. Not sure if this is a type of Berlin or WMF mark? Height 9.75 in. Does anyone recognize this mark?

That mark is in Rontgen as Aelteste Porzellanfabrik, Volkstedt, but it looks curiously raised on your piece.

@moreotherstuff, scroll the white mark image,JUST above, larger, and it doesn't look really 3-D, could it possibly be the applied green coloring??

I haven't seen a silver covered piece of porcelain -- silver deposit and silver overlay, yes, but this? No. I wonder, since trophies are usually silver (at least they were back then), this item might've been a less expensive type of trophy since it wasn't solid silver?

Kent-I posted a (unfortunately broken) sterling covered art nouveau vase here ages ago.It was $10 & damaged, but i was fascinated by the process & had to have it.Will see if i can fin the pic.
PS-This trophy though is from another world, quite amazing & worth researching.

I have to wonder what, exactly, did one have to do to win this thing? Seriously strange.
