evening all, I picked up an antique tufting machine in original box.. inside the box were the machine patterns, ins. and this lamb knitting machine article.. I googled the article and found something similar and they are asking $125.00 for the article. I think my article is older bc it doesn't have patent information on it.. here is the link for the patent article.

should I put this article in the box and sell it with the machine or list it separately? 2019-04-24-22-57-32.jpg 2019-04-24-22-57-54.jpg 2019-04-24-22-58-05.jpg 2019-04-24-22-58-26.jpg 2019-04-24-22-58-41.jpg 2019-04-24-22-58-55.jpg
    TIA

I have highlighted the key word. I would put all documentation in with it, as I think this would improve its chances of selling to a collector or someone who actually wants to use it.

Now, if only you had the 'inclosed' sample stocking.

    'Asking'

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

The brochure is from Hulbert & Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio while the other one online is from Toronto.

I found that Hulbert was selling Lamb knitting machines in 1868, according to this post that lists Cincinnati vendors and dealers of a lot of things, taken from a Cincinnati newspaper feature.
    https://handeaux.tumblr.com/post/134981187722/here-is-your-1868-cincinnati-shopping-guide

    T. W. Hulbert was one of the patentees of an improvement to the Lamb knitting machines in 1871. The patent application implies that "Lamb knitting machine" is a generic reference to a certain type of item.
    https://patents.google.com/patent/US115983

A city directory from 1874 says that Thomas W. Hulbert was "atty. and agt., Lamb Knitting Machine Co., 538 w. 8th."

Just some information that I pieced together.

Based on what @Hollyblue posted, I would say that the brochure is not a match with the actual item posted here. So I would say to sell them separately.

    Not stupid, @Tricia Harr

A seller can ask for any amount they like, but sold prices are used to estimate current market value. You can often find a similar item on eBay, just filter for "Sold."

"Completed" results will also come up, useful to gauge demand.

    Hope that helps :)

Maybe you already knew that - just trying to clarify the "asking" riddle

    :)
