Artist and age of copies

Hi all,these painted copies /reproductions are on canvas (pasted on board) They look fairly old to me and beautifully painted. Size 68x49cm and visa versa)Maybe late 19th century or early 20th ?(just guessing)

Any idea who the artist was? Copies of The water mills: Artist Meindert Hobbema (Dutch 1638-1709) and Moonlit Landscape: Artist Cesar Loo (French 1743- 1821) Thanks for any help

 

They're rather rough copies. I'd think created for decorative purposes rather than by an art student. That's an older hand. I'd agree turn of the last century.

My point re location is... It's unlikely they were produced by someone working from the originals. That means they would have been produced after 1880 when artwork reproduced in color lithography became widely available.

Appreciate the comment. Thanks Debora. I rather like them. Someone put effort into painting them. Plus they were free (which is the best price)

 

Someone knew what they were doing but s/he did it in short hand evidenced by this. What I always say about decorative paintings... Minimum effort for maximum effect.
