This very solid (weighs almost 2 lbs) cast bronze object has me intrigued. I believe it dates to the turn of the last century, but what IS it? Is it merely an ashtray, or something else? What does the shape (a stick man?) on the bottom signify? I’ve wondered if it might have a “wild west” theme going on, and the figure is either a ranch’s brand, or else a native-American Indian-style pictograph of a person. I’d love to hear your thoughts!
