Asian Etched Glass Vase

Hi, all! I was shopping in an antique store today and found a very heavy amber etched glass vase with Asian markings on it. Can anyone tell me anything about it? Is it Chinese or Japanese? Can you read the characters on it? It has an etched mountain and foilage scene on one side. Here are the pictures. I think it was about 7" or 8" tall.....

I will say I think its lovely,and Id have bought it in a second (depending how cheap,of course) .

 

I agree. I was going to, but $50 for me was just too steep for something I knew nothing about. The thick polished top of the glass really was making me think "quality". But, then the etched scene didn't seem to be of great quality. So, I'm glad I took pictures and asked. Mat saved me from a mistake! Thanks again, Mat!

Yeah,Id have walked away from it too. That's probably what its worth.
