Asian Fisherman Statue - Stone, Bone or Resen?

    I had a doctor's appt this morning & stopped at a pawn shop down the block on the way back to the car and found this.

    It was only $35 and I'm not sure why but I liked it (I love the expression on the fish's face)! If it is resin I haven't seen one this big or with the colors like this.

    Is there a way to tell what it's made of without sticking a hot pin in it?

    It is resin, but nice quality, better than most. I'm sure you'll make a profit.
    Catching a goldfish is auspicious, it is probably part of a famous story.
