Can anyone tell me what this form of art is called? I don't get the feeling it is very old, but it is a pretty piece. Two golden birds against a black background, with actual plant material, all behind glass. There is a small red and white label at lower left which I have provided a close up of, in case anyone recognizes the manufacturer. Guesses as to age would be appreciated too. Thank you! ... Dave

Wow, that's really lovely, and given such care in its excecution and packaging. :)

I don't know if there's a term for the exact technique in your picture, but I always think of any image with materials applied to the surface as a "collage."

Thanks Pat, that is a good keyword. It's a nice looking piece. I tried to find a match for the label on gotheborg a little while ago, but didn't have any luck.
