Asian Pierced Cloisonne Plate

    It's completely pierced rather than having transparent backing.

    Plique A Jour would have fine glass inserted in the openings.

    It is pierced with part plique-à-jour enamel.
    Plique-à-jour is an enameling technique. The enamel is translucent and has no backing, which makes it look like glass inserts.
