Asian Pottery Piece

    I am guessing that this is a simple decorative piece and that the last photo reflects an extraneous mark, rather than a makers mark.

    Any thoughts?

    Yeah, the castle like images seem to suggest european. Do you know what kind of trees those are though?

    Looks like a mediterranean pine tree, the french aptly call it 'pin parasol', parasol pine tree. The lion 'handles' also look European, Chinese ones are different.

    Sorry, I don't know very much about European style pottery. Looks to me like it is made to look old.
    Hopefully one of the pottery people will be along to tell you more.

    It's a version of a "pilgrim bottle" or "moon flask" with a romanticized Continental scene. I would think European. And looks old-ish to me.

    Thanks Debra. It looks and feels old to me. Would you agree that the "mark" is likely accidental?
