It’s a bit less than 3ft wide. The top portion separates from the bottom, there’s a combination of doors, drawers and a slider. It has square “hooks” that recess into the sides of both th bottom and the top, it’s pretty lightly built but also very light weight which make me think it’s made from a soft wood. The locks seem to still work which make me wonder if it’s really old...if it’s not someone did a good job making it look old.

And again, thank you for your indulgence.

From the exterior, it's questionable as to how old, but the interior has cross cut saw marks. I don't know as much about oriental trunks (or whatever this would be called?) It looks hand made, perhaps out of various pieces?

Someone who knows more about this should be around later, please be patient! :cat:

Has a 1970s vibe to me! :cat:

But it could be older! ??

The stain looks right for the 70s.

    That's what I'd figure too.

Tansu chest and I do think this one has a bit of age to it. The paper lining and iron-work makes me think Korean in origin.

I’m most certainly not knowledgeable when it comes to furniture but this certainly seems old. Ive seen plenty of Asian/Asian inspired darkly finished furniture from the 70’s and this had a different feel. The context in which it’s found would also support that it would be older.
