It looks like an old oil painting I had from the 1980s or 90s that was, actually, oriental factory art in a nice frame. Mine was large and a bit different subject matter, also signed similarly but without any extra writing. Really I think this is just a fantasy painting, quickly painted trees and water, the extra writing seems to be a fantasy too.

Of course, I could be wrong, please wait for other members to view this..

    Forgot to ask = size?

Mine was rather large, at least 3' in height, very similar frame.

I think factory painting too. (As usual, a photograph of the back, including frame, would be helpful.)

The style is different than most other "factory" art I'm familiar with. Guess it could be, but among that genre it would stick out a bit...at least to me. I like it, whatever it is!

Agreed, it's not exactly the same style as many we've discussed in this forum. It has a "fantasy" element.

Sorry to say, but it is, and I think it's from the 1980s. You will see a huge amount of factory paintings that are very similar and now I think these may all be from Italy, and not oriental. Perhaps my old one that I left in my old shop when I sold it - was Italian. Mine had nothing but the undecipherable red signature though, nothing written on the back. Same circa frame, but since OP has not returned to check, we don't know what size it is..

It would be good to get a better look at the frame and the back too.

Its does seem very european to me, from the buildings and the landscape. The signatures from the front and the back are not the same and it night even be that the painter was American and the collector was italian!

Definitely a possible scenario. Thank you.
