I am assuming that this miniature (smaller than demi-tasse) are hand made in a pottery class. Any opposing opinions?

    Possibly an Italian 1960s souvenir.

If one subscribes to the theory that one acquires a little remembrance to remind them of time spent, one can only assume that a person on holiday who purchased this piece as a souvenir had a miserable time...................

Looks a little like California pottery from the 1950s to me. I just got rid of a set of 12 miniature Ardalt gold trimmed mini demitasse (quarttasse?) cups and saucers at a yard sale. They were my MILs. She was an avid bridge player. I'm thinking that these little what-nots were typical Christmas exchange gifts by bridge, book, or garden club members, probably purchased at the downtown dime store.

Tacky 50s grab-bag prize? At one point, they gave away dishes in supermarkets and gas stations with purchases. This ain't that, but it does look like it's from a dime store.

That's an understatement! My piece is much thicker and clumsy - I would call it pottery, not "china". It doesn't even sit straight.............

Gifted to those you particularly disliked................

That is a GOOD title - "Vintage 1950s Dime store/5 & 10 Christmas Gift", guaranteed to show off your bad taste...............

Well, I am such an optimist these days that I am convinced that I can sell this unmarked and battered piece of Bric (not good enough to deserve the surname Brac) for $12.00 (free shipping) on Bonanza within 4 months.

Not only am I being optimistic about it selling, I'm being optimistic about still being "around" in 4 months..................

We need to give the puns a rest, unless they strike a chord with someone of course....
