Australian Aboriginal Shield Identification

    Hi, Have had this for a while. I'm pretty certain it is Aboriginal, I'm from NZ, we are culturally (and in New Zealand terms geographically) close to Australia, they come here and we go there all time, The design and shape is like that of other aboriginal shields I see online, and the Maori never made shields.

    Would really like to know more about it, particularly which tribe or region it may have came from. I'm guessing the pattern on the piece and the piece's shape might be enough to identify it more than just "aboriginal".
