Bakelite, amber, celluloid, other? Necklace

What does this necklace be made of? Don’t own it. Just want to know. It resembles amber but I assume it’s too uniform to be. Bakelite my guess? Or cheaper newer plastic?

Copal Amber? I’ve had Copal Amber stands. One of which two Tibetan guys drove like 3 hours one way to buy from me then drove 3 hours back. These beads are so regular though. Usually I feel like they don’t want to waste material sculpting them down. I know they can use the waste for reconstituted stuff but still. It could be though!

I don't think so. The Tibetans make faux amber, but it is evenly coloured.

No, it isn't copal, it is some kind of faux amber.

 

Yeh I didn’t think it was Copal. Just asking if that’s what OB was referencing. I agree it’s faux. Just wondering if it’s valuable faux or worthless faux. Obviously some of the old Bakelite and other old plastic ones can be worth having.

 

I was thinking the Tibetan faux stuff, but good point on the colour variance.
