Bear Necessities

Good morning (evening) all,

I hope you can help me. I have acquired a collection of bear scenes and I can't find them anywhere on the internet. Does anyone know where I can find information about them? I have attached a photo of one of them. I have them in other scenes.

Hi Debora,

No markings on them but two came in a box which only said "Nursery Bears" on it. Nothing else on the box.

They look like modern resin pieces. The kind of thing you might find in a Hallmark store, or advertised in a crosswords book.

 

I remember seeing them in gift shops back in the 1990s. They are fairly heavy and the artwork on all the different ones I have is very detailed.

Definitely not a part of the Boyds Bears collection.

IMHO they look like they are the type of figurine you find at the dollar-type stores.

 

I've bought enough similar stuff, never to my advantage but I can see the appeal. I've always been a sucker for kitsch, to which I think these belong.
