My latest lot of beautiful beads :) .
All are keepers so this is just for my interest. Please scroll on if there is too much!
Is there anything of interest about any of them?.Any eras or obvious origins?

There are lots so I’ve tried to keep photos to a minimum but I can always do more.....
    1) Love these. Red glass wheel shape.
    2)Just glass!
3)Lovely green square( but not! Polygon?)glass randomly on an old sterling chain.
4)Gorgeous glass red and white cone shape ( what shape are those?!)
    5)Odd little turquoise colour glass?
    6)Crescent glass? Beads

    7) Made in Austria wheel shape like plastic (Lucite?)
    8) Sadly damaged lovely matt glass beads
    9) More modern?
    10) Odd- Brown like glass but appear to have been made in two halves or moulded?
    11)Black and clear glass
    11) I love these Amber glass
    13) Just glass but pretty.
Some extra pics at the bottom of 1,8 and 12!
I think the clasps etc are unreliable as may have been restrung.
Thankyou so much for any information:)

Are you sure 13 is 'just glass'? It is put together like lead crystal, which is too sharp & heavy to be strung in the usual way.

I'm not sure of anything!!. That's why I come creeping in here with my inane questions.
How would I know if it's lead crystal?.At least that one is in it's manufactured condition. Its beautifully faceted but beyond that I don't know?

It's way heavier in the hand than plain glass the same size. It also refracts light into rainbow colors. I have a couple with the beads strung on fine chain.

    Compare to beads of #2.

Were these glass beads sometimes originally strung on a Sterling chain?. No 3, the green and clear seems very heavy to be on a fine chain.

Are beads of #1 same make as the 2 7s? Broken strand?

Silver in color; don't know if sterling. I was talking about lead crystal beads, very heavy.

That confused me too as 1 is gorgeous glass and 6&7 are lightweight like plastic but chink so I think lucite. They are so similar in shape of the beads and came from the same seller but definitely a different material.

1 - the red is cut crystal, 1910-20s
2 - Cut crystal same time period
    3, 4 &12 - Cut crystal 1920s
    5 - green glass later maybe 50s.
    6 - Shells, look newer
9 - Mixed colors, I have several of that type. I always think they are older, before 1950.
    11 - Mixed short crystal - later 1950s
    13 - Maybe Czech crystal 1930s

To answer your question - Yes they strung crystal beads on sterling chains.

8 Might be 1960s plastic, can't tell from the picture.

Is 10 stone? tiger eye? Again can't be sure from the picture.

    Thankyou, that's great information.
Not sure if this helps but-
6-Not sure if shell as are complete and all so identical?. Seem solid too.
    11- What is short crystal?.
8- Definitely a plastic of some sort. Both are signed Made in Austria on clasp.
10- I don't know as appear stone like but made in two halves or moulded. If you zoom in you can see the lines.
    Thankyou :)

10 doesn't look like tiger eye to me. Hard to know about 6. Kind of thing tourists bring back from someplace warm. Not shell. Some kind of seed dyed red or carved tagua nut, ditto?

I don't much love red, as a general thing, but #4 is my favorite here.

Don't talk to me about beads, or bracelets, or watches, or rings :D

I've just been entangling and sorting tons of it.

They will be displayed like that on my pitch at York on Saturday morning.
    The ladies love rummaging.
    £1 per item.
Then what is left is taken to Hemswell on Sunday morning for much of the same.
I have lots more crated up at my lock -up and the valuable stuff is in the safe
