Featured Beautiful Beads finds

    Some lovely beads that have found their way to me :angelic:

    Nephrite- is there a name for this colour?

    Jade- love the orange - dyed?

    Like Bristol blue glass beads with odd little gold coloured spacers. No idea about these.

    Lapis and something?. Depth of opals but without the colour. Quartz?

    The orange one looks like heat quenched/crackled dyed quartz,the green agate in the bottom photo is also dyed and quenched.

    By that do you mean heated and then cooled quickly in water to create the crackled effect?. I rather like the orange one.

    What do you think about the white ones with the lapis @Hollyblue ?. If they had colour I'd swear they were opals but they have the depth but clear white.

    They're such clever little things aren't they?:D
    No jade imo. The ochre-orangy ones are heat-crackled quartz, as Holly said. I suspect the green ones in the same necklace are some kind of quartz as well.
    Probably the white beads with the lapis too, it looks like there is a quartz-like structure.
