BEAUTIFUL Hand Painted Cruet. Villeroy & Boch? Fake Sevres Mark?

    This lovely cruet measures about 6 1/2 inches tall. The mark is either VB or JB. If VB, I was thinking Villeroy & Boch. As usual, I can't find any examples that match this mark. Whatcha all think?

    Villeroy and Boch would not be marked France.

    Sorry, I thought they were a German company. Shows how much I know.

    Yes, they are a German company but started in France in 1748. Jean François Boch and Nicholas Villeroy merged in 1836 to form Villeroy & Bach (VB).

    Hi Vitry,
    Lovely cruet!!!! I am guessing it is marked JD. I have nothing to offer but it is a really nice piece.

    Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

    The cruet is GORGEOUS!!!! Of which I know zip about, but somehow I cannot make a "B or b" out of that letter next to the "V".............but Greg, above may be right on it!!!!

    To me it looks like VB too; it may be the decorator's initials.
