    Hello again!

Another find I would be happy to know about. Not sure if it is crystal or (pressed) glass, but I have a feeling it can be quite old. Bought it from Sweden's antiques store and it just doesn't seem like it's modern pitcher. I have been wrong about it before of course :)
Google wasn't very helpful, so I hope some of you might know something similar.
It's quite heavy and about 27 cm (10.5 inches) high.

    Thank you so much!
    Erik

Cut lead crystal, mid to late 19th and very nicely done. I'd suspect perhaps Irish cutters. I've Andy McConnels definitive book on decanters and jugs, I'll see if anything similar is in it.

It's very high quality cutting. That shape is typically mid to late 19th. Claret or similar. It doesn't have the grey tinge of earlier glass.

The handle, first applied at the bottom, was first patented in about 1874, before that, attached first at the top, then the bottom. I do not know when the difference occurred in England/Europe, but I'd guess in the same half decade. Thus dating the pitcher post 1870.
Having said that, does the third picture (above) show a crack just below and to the left of the handle?

Thanks for your input :) Any ideas who made it or where? Can't believe I can not find another one or similar like this.
I checked the pitcher and there are no cracks or chips or anything :)

Good point on the handle, bit earlier here.

I don't think it's American. Off to hunt the book.
