    Hi and Happy T-DAY! :)

It resembles Weller Louwelsa, but all Louwelsa appears to be decorated and the bases are unglazed as this one is. Very glassy glaze graduates into green. Searched narrow twisted neck arts & crafts, etc, but nothing quite fits - any suggestions? (This is NOT tobacco spit, right?)

I can see the marks a little better in the photograph - maybe reads F99? with another mark?

    6.75 tall x 4.5 widest

    Thanks - giving - day - thanks!

Try searching "standard glaze" art pottery. You might be able to find it.

I think scouthouse meant the type of glaze, not the use, LOL!

Thanks everyone - huh... When i googled tobacco spit glaze, i see a lot of primitive pieces with more texture... I thought tobacco spit was a deep brown runny glaze.
Didn't turn up anything definitive (to this piece) on standard glaze art pottery, but thanks, Laura g - that's helpful :)

It doesn't look like standard glaze to me, with the greenish tones. Also the numbers look European, maybe a 7 instead of F. Try Belgium.

    Hi Janetpjohn - thanks :)
There was one reference to the blending of colors including green in American art pottery standard glazes - sorry it's on my phone and I'm not sure I can get that back. But I'll look up Belgian, too.

The photo doesn't do it justice. :( It's almost black...

    Happy T-DAY !

My first thought would be Belgian, and I think it's a 7 definitely.

Another vote for Belgian. The term standard glaze, I believe, comes from Rookwood that used a shiny brown glaze as background for their hand painted pottery. Collectors have come to use the term for any pottery with shiny brown glazes. In usage, this may include other sub-colors as the green seen here but some may restrict the term to brown only.

That'd pull the value down a bit from American Arts & Crafts, no? Possibly Thulin?

Just for fun - and seasonal too, though a little late for halloween:
