Can you post a pic that has all of the writing? Sometimes being able to see the full swoops and swirls and other letters is helpful.

Is the front signed anywhere? It could have been gifted to someone and the note signed by the the gifter.

This is what I found on the front but I cannot make heads or tails of it.

Does it look like the other groups of “birds in the distance”?

Yes I believe it is other birds in the distance.

yes , it's just birds...and at that height they should already be in the classic V formation..

Could it possibly be a very hurriedly scrawled Peter Scott? He normally has a legible signature on his wildlife bird paintings but who knows when you’re in a rush and thinking of something else.

I agree that the inscription may be written by a gifter rather than by the artist.
Above the signature, I see the words "her best".
As others have said, it would be helpful to see the entire inscription. Seeing how other letters are formed in known words can be helpful.

I think the first line likely reads, "all the best," and could easily be from the artist... but who knows? :cat:

I will do more research though after looking at the signature. It is very sloppy and will require more looking into. I have some magnifying products that will help me enhance the signature.
