    Hi,
    The attached photos are from a “necklace” I bought some time back, left it untouched for some time as I really thought this is coral and wanted to restrung it.
    Looking at it now, with a fresh eye, looks like glass, I wonder what is your take on it. What do you think the beads are? How old?
    To have it restrung it’s expensive, I wonder if you think it’s worth doing it.
    @Any Jewelry I have a feeling this is something you would like to see.
    @Ownedbybear @Bronwen @Figtree3
    Thank you.
    Kind regards,

    Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

    Thank you for tagging me, @Simona Buhus . I am not very good at identifying coral, so will have to leave it to the others to give their opinions. I like it!

    I'd say coral, but dyed, the colour looks rather off.

    Agree on dyed coral. If you look into the holes you’ll probably see white.

    I have taken some photos closed up. They feel like glass, taped them together and have a high pitch. I can see some twirls as well… very different than coral.
    Very confused about it now.lol

    Glass they are. The side view gives it away. Real coral isn't formed like that.

    Made in Nepal, traditional Nepali faux coral or coral glass. It is always this blotchy and dark with black holes.
    The ethnic jewellery crowd like it, and pay more money for it than they should.:playful:

    I don’t think I’ve ever seen those before. I own a strand of faux coral small glass beads but have never seen those big ones.
