Big mystery

Hi everyone, we have a piece that appears to be a secretary desk but I am not sure at all. We have never seen anything like it and can't find anything even similar. Any ideas of what it is? Where is came from? Value?

 

It's some sort of desk at least. Circa 1920? The design looks right for the late 10s or early 20s. It looks a bit of a mishmash. @verybrad may well know more than I do.

 

Hi and WELCOME TTA&A to the Forums!! Just sniped by evelyb30.....gotta learn to type FASTER!!!!!! And she's already tagged @verybrad, so some more help along with hers will be here eventually!!! Truthfully, I can't help at all!!! Other than, yes, it's a very interesting desk and the only time period I can think of might be Victorian, but that's a guess!! I'll add @James Conrad as well....let's see what they both come up with!!! More eyes can never be a bad thing!!

Yep, it's UNAMIMOUS!
Often called "jacobean revival" popular in 1st quarter 20th century. Value is not much, there is a lot of this furniture knocking around antique malls all across america.
