Bird bath info

Hi all picked up this little bird bath. I love getting the odd thing here and there.
It's made out of a resin if some sort and the base is a stone material bird's are resin I think as well. Pretty small as seen anyone have any ideas what it may have been used for please. A couple of chips in it but that doesn't bother me to much. Cheers chris

Looks very Italian usually made of alabaster. Based on an Roman or Etruscan piece. I have found them made of sodium sulfate which dissolves into nothing if soaked in water.

They have been making them forever. If they are really resin instead of other stuff should not be older than 1960s. I really like that they are that small but looks like they came from a house of cigarette smokers.

i don't see butt marks or ash marks......
u thinking smokers, cuz it's dark..?

 

If so can it be polished up at all might try anyway

 

Just found some under ashtray bird bath will have a longer look o goggle

Tobacco smoke turns alabaster that orangey brown color. Believe me being a smoker for years I know what it does to stuff.
