    Hi folks

    found this this sweet lil box today, don't think its got much(or any) age, but just looks nicely put together/made

    haven't a clue on origin

    any thoughts or info appreciated

    I just did an image search on Chinese eBay and results are suggesting Japanese

    I like the design--- looks a little tech / computer board -ish. Prob not the intent though.

    its surprising that image search cannot find anything even similar, was worried it was gonna be full of likeys

    Very Japanese, with that seemingly random but very balanced combination of designs. It is the same effect you see on silk kimonos.
    I love it, a very pretty birthday gift.:happy:

    great news, thanks Aj. quite intricate as well in those little boxed areas. Happy that its Japanese

    suppose it could also be grass (or similar) given how thin the strands are

    The small geometric panels remind me of the ones you get on some satsuma ceramics. I'd plum for Japanese. Tried to find an example on line but murphys law, I can't.
